The Brand & Studio Philosophy
Founded by photographer and visual strategist Vaibhav Bhardwaj, Stone in Light is an architectural photography practice dedicated to the meticulous documentary of design. Honoring structural geometry, material textures, and precise scale, the studio observes how natural and artificial light interact with these forms. By doing so, the studio captures the distinct atmosphere of a space, hinting at the narrative of the building and the daily human experience it was designed to hold.
About Vaibhav Bhardwaj
Vaibhav’s practice is profoundly shaped by a background in long-form documentary photography, end-to-end production workflows, and high-level visual curation. His enduring interest lies in the spatiality of daily life—how communities inhabit structures and how storytelling manifests within physical boundaries. This documentary perspective informs his architectural work, allowing him to view physical spaces not just as structural feats, but as environments built for human ritual and coexistence.
Prior to establishing Stone in Light, Vaibhav spent years leading visual curation and dataset development for global technology companies, including Google and Snapchat, as well as prominent international non-profits. This extensive history of managing complex logistical shoots, adhering to strict brand guidelines, and delivering high-stakes visual assets seamlessly translates into a highly disciplined, collaborative, and professional approach to architectural and interior documentation.
Selected Professional Collaborations
“I think the best thing about Vaibhav is the way he interacts and the way he understood the brief. I can tell you that I've worked with many photographers, but Vaibhav has his own very quiet, solid way of working. And the most beautiful part of working with him is that he is amenable to changes, to hearing, and so flexible. That was something that really stood out for me. I really can say that I'm delighted with the output I've got.”
